Too Pretty a Day to Pass Up!
So some reading this might think ok you took your kid to the park after all the complaining about him being sick?!? Well it was too pretty a day not to get him out and my belief is that a little sunshine can do a kid some good when they are sick! Plus there has been this new dog park we have been hearing about that we couldn't wait to take our lab to. So today we decided Colby was doing much better so we took them both.
You can read my earlier post and note that he's still not a 100% though but I think he was feeling well enough to enjoy the outdoors a bit. We probably would have stayed much longer if he would have been 100%. So we got to the park and Austin took Allie to the doggie park side and I took Colby to the kiddie park. Very conveniant that they share a parking lot! I couldn't believe how many kids and mommies though were at the kid park. There must have been over 30+ kids. There were toddlers and mommies running around everywhere. I think Colby had a lot of fun and he was curious about watching some of the bigger kids. His favorite part were running across this bridge and down this hill thing. He also enjoyed playing in the clover. Once he discovered the slide too he was all about that! We probably played for about 30 minutes. Like I said if he hadn't been sick we probably would have been out there over an hour. I think between him being still kinda sick and being so crowded he was done after 30 min. I would love to take him back out to this park though it was brand new and so nice and perfect for Colby's age. I just want to know when its not soo busy! I like there to be some kids when we go but not that many! That was just overwhelming! We had fun though and I was just glad we could say we got out the house and got to soak up this spring weather some! I didn't get any pictures I would have had tons of good shots but since I was supervising Colby alone and there were sooo many people around it made me nervous to worry about picture taking!
Apparantly Austin said Allie had a blast too though with her doggie friends. She met a really nice Huskie too I think he had a crush on her. His name was Aspen he was sad when we left! He also said Allie was very good at the park she minded her own business and was not aggressive at all with other dogs. She also appeared to be a little shy when other dogs got snippy with her! I am glad we got out and got to enjoy this day! Hopefully tomorrow will be an even better day! Colby is still showing slow signs of improvement. He is still eating light but drinking more so that is good!

Slow Recovery
So Colby is still battling this bug. This is the looongest and slooowest recovery we have ever had. Normally he is the kinda child that is sick 1 day but bounces back the next. This sickness has had him since Thursday and really for a few days it seemed as if he got worse before getting better. This is the first day that I say he is mildly improve and when I say mildly I mean it because its not HUGE.
So today he woke up and I thought surely he was better. He didn't have any diarhea over night which is a big thing! I think last night was the first night he didn't either throw up or poop in the middle of the night. His diaper was also closer to being as wet as it normally is too. He also immediately wanted to eat his peaches too. I then fixed his strawberries but he only ate a couple. He was ready for his oatmeal but after a few bites he acted like he was going to throw up. So I didn't make him eat the rest we moved on to yogurt instead. He kinda fought me but I wanted something in his tummy. He is atleast drinking better today. He downed most of his milk and then a cup of gatorade all before his nap. So that was a good sign too. At lunch he didn't want to eat much either and again acted like if I forced him he would throw up. He manged to eat a small amount of mashed potatoes and then applesauce.
He has played a good amount this morning but still doesn't act like he has as much energy as normal. I am just encouraged that he isn't going to dehydrate. So maybe by tomorrow his appetite will begin coming back. Also probably tmi but he only had one bout of diarhea today and it wasn't as liquidy as it has been so thats good too! I just pray he gets over it soon because it is getting old! But I am thankful b/c it could be so much worse just trying to keep that in perspective!

Momma's Heartache
So my little man is still battling this bug. We thought yesterday he was pretty much done but then he threw up the mac n cheese I made him for dinner last night. Probably shouldn't have made something that heavy but since he made it through the day I figured it would be ok. Plus he was so excited...he loves his mac n cheese! Poor guy still wanted to eat more even after he threw it up. He managed to hold down yogurt though and some fruit. He seemed pretty ok before bedtime but you could tell he was tired and probably hungry from not eating much. I fixed him some sprite again and he only drank about half.
Well when Austin and I got ready for bed I went in to check on him and I could tell he had a dirty diaper so I got him up and changed him then tried to make him drink some juice. Well he had no part of it and I went to bed so worried he was going to be dehydrated. Typically he drinks SO much doing the day and his diapers have not been nearly as wet as they normally are either.
So I knew I would have to go in his room a couple times last night to check on him for my peace of mind. Well around 1 I went in there and he was on the opposite side of the bed sleeping...made me feel better that he had actually moved around that much. Then around 5:30 I went back in and could tell he had another dirty diaper. Got him up and changed him and poor guy his little butt is soo red and sore I feel so bad for him. I just want him to go a day without diarhea! So at this point he was grabbing for his juice but not sure if he wanted any or not. So I took his paci and encouraged him to drink. He slowly drank about 4 oz. After that I went and fixed him some Sprite and applesauce. He fought me at first but then was glad to have it. So that made me feel better that he now had liquids and something in his tummy! So after that I could tell he was still sleepy so I got him and rocked him for about 20 min. I couldn't help but tearing up while I rocked him. Partly b/c he is such a big boy now and the last time he really let me rock him like that he was probably 9 months old or something or younger. I also was upset to see my little boy not feel well at all. He has been off and on with this yuck since Thursday! I just want him to feel better. It hurts a mom's heart so much to see her child in pain or not feel good. I guess now I know how my mom feels or know why they always call and check on their kids or would do anything for us when we are sick? Because now I have been there with my son as sick and tired as I have been these last couple days I would much rather him feel good then me. So just pray that he feels better today and is able to hold down food and that by tomorrow he is completely rid of this!! I want my active little boy back!

Update on the Great Bug!!!
So far today I think Colby and I are getting better...still not 100% but better. We have both been able to hold down food and no more puking for us. Its just the other that's still sticking around! He doesn't seemed to be bothered much though he's still playing like usual. He also took a long nap this afternoon which let Austin and I rest too.
So far Austin doesn't have "it" just yet but he does say he feels a little iffy. This could be b/c he's coming down with or just being around it might make him feel sick too that's how I am. I think our plan is to just hang low the rest of the day and probably go ahead and skip church also so we don't get anyone else sick. Plus with the time change it wouldn't be fun waking up an hour earlier either. So just keep praying for us that we are all 3 well by Monday! Austin is off Monday and Tuesday so I am just praying the weather is still nice and we are able to enjoy it! Its been killing me today that its soo pretty outside but we can't really do much!

The Great Stomach Bug of 2010
Warning: If you have a weak or sensitive stomach you might want to skip this!!!!!!
So to update from my last post apparantly Colby was not 100% better. Thank goodness we didn't go anywhere today to expose anyone to our nasty germs. Well all morning Colby seemed great and I was fine we just thought yesterday was a fluke and he was all better. Well sometime before lunch my tummy started feeling a little iffy but I thought it was because I hadn't eaten anything. So I went on and ate my lunch and then took a nap. Once I woke up I still felt a little funny. I just tried to ignore it hoping it was nothing. Well by about 4 when Colby woke up from his nap I still didn't feel good. Oh and also Colby had a rough nap he first awoke when he pooped again it was diarhea but I still wasn't worried b/c I know that can take days to clear up. After I put him back to bed it wasn't long he was in their crying which he never does. Well I went in and layed him down and left again. After that he must have fallen asleep. Well like I said I wasn't feeling well after his nap but he seemed just fine. I mainly layed on the couch and he played right next to me. Once austin got home at 5 I really wasn't doing well. I had already thrown up a little. He went ahead and fed Colby and fixed dinner for himself. Well soon afterwards I lost pretty much everything that was in my tummy. So for the next few hours I just layed on the couch in self pity making trips to and from the bath.
Well finally around 9 Austin said he was going to get me some Sprite and Pepto from Walgreens. So I hopped in the bath again it seemed like the only thing that made me feel somewhat better. When he got home we heard Colby crying. I thought maybe he had just woken up from all the noise. So Austin went in there to check and wouldn't you know Colby was now covered in puke from head to toe and so was his bed and half the room! So this meant another bath for him. Well my adrenaline kicked in and I ran to check on him. Well once he got in the tub I started feeling lightheaded again so ran to my bucket by the couch and lost the popsicle I had eatin an hour earlier. Wow what a night this is gonna be! Well finally I felt semi better and I was able to help Austin by rocking Colby while he cleaned up his room. Poor little guy just seemed so exausted! I just feel so bad b/c I thought he was over it! I mean maybe he didn't seem 100% today but he sure didn't act like he felt bad....he's tougher then me! So now we are cleaning up and trying to sanitize our house! Poor Austin I just pray he doesn't get it but chances are if Colby and I have it this bad he probably will be like this tomorrow!
I just pray I feel better tomorrow so I can care for Colby! I guess we will stay in again though b/c I don't want to expose anyone to this! Its not fun at all! So there we are fighting another somach bug! Didn't we do this in February? Oh well guess its all part of having a little one! Good night!

WELL AGAIN!
So today Colby woke up 100% better praise God! I really was not looking forward to a weekend of sickness. It seems like since October someone has been sick for atleast 1 week during the month! Not fun! So today when Colby woke up he wasn't running fever and he seemed to have his spark back too. He woke up begging for food. He ate a whole banana, oatmeal, puffs, yogurt melts, and a cup of milk! He ran around the house while I was getting ready!
The weather out too is absolutely gorgeous! Its like in the 60s all day. So I dressed Colby and I and we headed out for a walk. It was so nice to just walk and enjoy God's creation. Things are starting to bloom a lot around here so it was nice to just soak up all God's creations. After our walk we played in the front and back yards for about 30 min. Now we are just hanging out in the house I have some chores I would like to get done while Colby is playing! He really wants to go somewhere and I hate not taking him b/c the weather is soo nice and it would be a great day to do anything but he had fever like 24 hours ago so I am just not sure he needs to leave the house yet. Maybe tomorrow...I think I am going to run to the Educator tomorrow so that will probably be our outting! We hope to enjoy some more outdoor time today though after his nap!
